9:00 am is rush hour in Switzerland. But it's not the usual traffic jams, as you might expect. As a well-known and highly respected Swiss brand, Landi Sursee manages one of the largest cooperative areas in Switzerland, whilst operating four service stations with connected retail shops. Thomas Bolliger, a member of the Landi Sursee management team and primary manager for infrastructure and strategic operations, talks about the impressive business results provided by the A800. “Since the new A800 machines have been in operation, coffee sales have grown by 16.5%. But it’s not just the sales figures that are important to us. The total cost of ownership is a key element as well. Here too, we have been able to achieve much better results than before. We have lowered our costs by 13.7 % in the last year.”

Ultimately, upgrading to Franke has proved to be an extremely successful move for Landi Sursee. As the company’s sales grew and their costs decreased, customer satisfaction and loyalty increased. People came back time after time to take their morning breaks, enjoying the fact that they could select coffee beverages from a fresh and attractive variety including cappuccino, latte macchiato with warm or cold foam, or seasonal coffee with cinnamon flavouring. Compared to other shop locations, this has represented a compelling advantage in terms of coffee sales.

Bollinger also recognised how the user-friendly interface supported their daily business too: "The large, intuitive touchscreen display is especially attractive to our customers. They can choose the type of drink they want on the spot – having seen an image of the actual beverages on the screen. In light of the self-service environment, it is important for us to offer easy-to-use coffee machines that can be operated without too much support from our staff. This allows our employees to focus on their main duties – serving our customers – and not on the coffee machine."
