The Franke Group officially opened its new production plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with a festive inauguration ceremony on July 9, 2025. Construction of Franke Foodservice Systems Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (Franke Mexico) began on March 31, 2023, resulting in a total investment of USD 82 million. The plant is now fully operational and marks a significant step in expanding the footprint of Franke Foodservice Systems – a division of the Franke Group and a world-leading supplier to global quick service restaurants (QSR) and convenience store chains – across North, Central, and South America.
The 31,000 m² facility includes 16,000 m² of production space and 10,000 m² of warehousing. It currently employs around 200 people, with plans to grow to 500 as market demand increases. Franke Mexico produces commercial kitchens, beverage racks, and custom fabrication products, with millwork and refrigeration lines to be added later this year.
Equipped with advanced technologies such as fiber laser cutting, plasma welding, high-pressure foaming, automated testing and traceability systems for critical components, the plant is designed for high precision and productivity. Sustainability features include a 500 MW solar panel installation, LED lighting with motion sensors, a rainwater harvesting system, and treated water reuse for landscaping – reducing environmental impact and conserving resources.
“With this facility, we are significantly enhancing our ability to deliver tailored solutions with greater speed and flexibility,” added Peter Revesz, CEO/President of Franke Foodservice Systems. “It positions us closer to our customers and strengthens our operational agility across the region.”
The location was strategically selected due to its proximity to the company’s key markets across the American continent. Additionally, the region provides a strong talent pool, supported by nearby technical universities, and a business-friendly environment conducive to long-term industrial growth.
“This new site is a cornerstone of our strategy to localize production, improve supply chain resilience, and better serve our customers across the Americas,” says Patrik Wohlhauser, CEO of the Franke Group. “It also reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.”
