Rae could reach her full potential at Franke. She gained skills, learned to adapt to frequent role changes, and worked across Franke’s three divisions and multiple locations.
My name is Rae and I joined Franke Asia in Jan 2013. I was living in Canada when Franke approached me for a regional financial analyst role - at a time when financial analyst roles were a fairly new concept compared to more traditional controlling roles. The opportunity was so compelling that I moved back to China.
In my first year with Franke, I supported a post-merger integration project, which I consider to be one of my most valuable experiences. We had a cross-functional team, including the general manager, human resources, finance and others, working on the integration from different perspectives. I led the integration from a financial controlling perspective, bringing Franke's standards to the newly acquired company.
I was then promoted to Asia Regional Controller, covering all divisions and multiple locations (China, Singapore, India, Thailand and the Philippines), and later to Finance Business Partner and Head of Asia Shared Service Centre. The broad scope taught me how to deal with multiple stakeholders and a high level of complexity.
I was also able to gain skills from a wide range of business-focused activities - from sitting in on sales meetings with customers to working with operations directors to make processes on the shop floor more efficient. These experiences, among others, have proved crucial in my current role.
Although I have faced challenges such as adapting to different bosses and frequent role changes, I have valued all these experiences. Franke has always supported my growth, making it a company I truly value.
