Lockdown Dream Kitchen, Newcastle

Former banker Sheila set the wheels in motion for her new kitchen at her Newcastle home prior to the first lockdown in 2020. As a keen cook, she had recognised the kitchen’s space and layout was inadequate for her needs and turned to Callerton Kitchens & Interiors to transform the room. When Covid-19 struck and national lockdowns imposed, conference calls and CAD imagery ensured the project stayed on track.

The contemporary design features a combination of gloss white and a rich woodgrain, which maintains a light and airy look. The separate utility provides a dedicated space for the washing machine, storage and the central heating boiler, ensuring the kitchen remains a dedicated space for cooking and relaxing.

The hardwearing 1.5 bowl Urban Fragranite sink in Graphite is a stylish, practical and hygienic option in a busy kitchen, while the Minerva Mondial 4-in-1 Electronic tap in Stainless Steel will dispense 30 or 60 seconds of filtered 100°C boiling and filtered cold water with a simple touch and turn of the dial; perfect for getting pans on the go quickly. The secondary sink in the utility is also made from durable Fragranite and the Textura mixer tap adds a stylish finishing touch.

In the main kitchen the Urban UBG 651-100 1.5 bowl Fragranite inset sink in Graphite offers a solid and easy to clean material which ensures it retains its looks for the long-term, while the Minerva Mondial 4-in-1 Electronic instant boiling water tap with its contemporary L-Spout design aids faster cooking and preparation.

In the utility the Basis BFG 611-97 Fragranite inset sink in Stone Grey is complemented by the Textura Swivel Spout tap in Chrome which adds a hint of industrial style.
