Základem designu bytu bylo použití čistých linií, ať už rovných nebo zakřivených, dále byly využity neutrální palety barev, od bílé po světle teplé tóny a také přírodní materiály jako dřevo a kámen. A aby bylo možné integrovat černé prvky velkých okenních rámů, rozhodla se Mei pro mikrovlnnou troubu a troubu Franke vyrobené z nerezové oceli a elegantního černého skla. Tyto spotřebiče dodávají prostoru luxusní dojem a současně vytvářejí kuchyni, která je vhodná pro rostoucí rodiny a rodinná setkání.

Vzhledem k tomu, že základ návrhu je moderní a minimální, Mei a Jean Pierre mohli promítnout svůj osobní styl do dekorace. Od papírových lampiček přes náladové lesní tapety až po plakáty s čínskými příslovími – tyto tradiční kousky pomáhají vnést rovnováhu a život do jinak anonymního a futuristického mrakodrapu.

Seznamte se s 36letou Mei a stejně starým Jean Pierrem, kteří se seznámili a vzali v Paříži, kde Mei studovala doktorát. Přestože spolu strávili 4 roky ve městě lásky, ve skutečnosti si více zamilovali Šanghaj, město, které mělo blíže k jejímu kulturnímu dědictví a také k jeho vášni – starověké čínské kultuře. Jelikož se Mei živí jako architektka moderních prostorů, bylo zřejmé, že bude zodpovědná za většinu návrhů jejich nového domova, ovšem s přihlédnutím k jejich společnému stylu. Pořádání večírků v otevřené kuchyni, poslouchání jemného jazzu při práci z domova a samozřejmě užívání si výhledu na město.
