Franke Fireclay sets new standards, not only for the wonderful way it looks, but also for hygiene and simplicity of care. The special finish ensures that there’s no need to scrub. A daily wipe down with a damp cloth is all it needs, leaving you to enjoy the beauty of your Franke Fireclay sink year after year.
For everyday cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth or sponge with a standard washing-up liquid or vinegar-based cleaner. Ceramic is harder than metal, which means metal may leave marks on the surface. You can remove such marks with cleaner specially developed for glass and ceramic surfaces.

Liquid ceramic – consisting of quartz, china clay and kaolin – is injected into a mold under high pressure. Before it dries, surface imperfections are smoothed with soft sponges and an even surface is created with water. It can then take several days for a large Fireclay sink to dry at room temperature. A final drying session takes place at 160° F and lasts about 40 hours.
Fireclay is an extremely tough, scratch-resistant surface that is harder than metal and impervious to acids and bleaches.
The smooth, dirt-resistant finish makes cleaning faster. Tea, coffee or even red wine stains are easily removed. A standard washing-up liquid or vinegar-based cleaner is ideal, especially in areas with particularly hard water. So there’s no need to use a strong, chemical cleaner.
