Istanbul-based Franke Kitchen Systems and Trade Ltd. (FKT) only began operations a little over three years ago, selling household sinks and accessories in the Turkish market. Since then, FKT has rapidly built up a successful sink sales organization and structured after-sales service. A short time later, it began its own production of sinks. Today, its 25 staff members are able to cover the majority of the Turkish market.



FKT can look back with satisfaction on a period of rapid and successful development. At the start of 2000, with the aim strengthening itsmarket presence and distribution organization, FKT opened sales offices in Ankara and Izmir, the two largest cities in the country after Istanbul. Almost simultaneously, the product range was expanded to include cooking hobs and ventilation hoods, further enhancing the profile of the Franke brand name.
In April 2001, FKT again extended the product range, this time adding dishwashers and microwave ovens. At the present time, Franke is seen as a prestige brand in Turkey for sinks and accessories. At the end of 2000, the company decided to begin its own production of sinks for the low-price market segment, not only in Turkey, but also Europe and countries comprising the former Soviet Union. This production facility, representing an investment of Euro 1M, has now been in operation since September 2001. But FKT is planning even more: New premises need to be created for administration, production, logistics, exhibitions and training. The first step towards realizing these plans for the future came with the purchase of a site comprising an area of 17,000 m². The project is already underway and is scheduled for completion in October 2002.
