Why is Franke now offering Kitchen Range Hoods?

 

Franke is a respected, global leader in not only sinks, faucets and coffee systems but also in cooking appliances – including range hoods. Furthermore, Franke purchased Faber S.p.A in 2005 – a leading, global manufacturer of range hoods. Faber S.p.A has been selling range hoods in the U.S. and globally for more than 50 years.

Where are Franke Range Hoods made?

 

All of the new Franke Range Hoods are made in Fabriano, Italy – the high end ventilation capital of the world. Faber employs the most current, state-of-the art manufacturing techniques money can buy.

What is the difference between the Faber U.S. and Franke brands of Range Hoods?

 

Franke branded Range Hoods are not Faber branded range hoods with a different name. While some internal components are shared, the new Franke Kitchen Ventilation program is a totally new, unique and premium line with features and styles not found elsewhere.

Where will these Range Hoods be stocked?

 

Franke Range Hoods will be stocked in Ruston, LA. Replacement parts will be stocked with our customer service department in Hatfield , PA.

Are Franke Range Hoods quiet?

 

Yes, at 3.5-6 Sones (max.), Franke Range Hoods are among the quietest in the industry.

Can Franke Range Hoods be used over Pro Gas ranges and cooktops?

 

Yes! With the entire line rated at no less than 600 CFM (with popular units at 900-1200 CFM), these units can be used on most 30-48” gas and electric ranges and virtually all 30-48” gas and electric cooktops.

Will there be any other sizes, styles and configurations available eventually?

 

Franke has already begun development on the next wave of new products that will make Franke Kitchen Ventilation one of the most comprehensive lines in the industry.

What is the warranty?

 

With true, “bumper-to-bumper” coverage, Franke has one of the best warranties in the industry. We cover consumables (light bulbs, filters etc.) for 90 days, Parts & Labor on everything else for 1 year, and our Aspira-Tek motor for 3 years. Please see Limited Warranty for details.

How is service obtained on a Franke Range Hood?

 

In the unlikely event that a repair is needed, Franke will refer consumers to their original place of purchase. This ensures that our customers’ get the most trusted service expertise in their geographic areas. Franke will work to find and develop service providers in any area where reliable service is not immediately available.

Can Franke Range Hoods be converted to ductless, recirculating applications?

 

Yes. Not only can all of our models be converted (including Pro-styles and Built-in Inserts), but we include everything (on most models) an installer needs to convert (i.e. diverter, charcoal filter and reversible chimney) right in the box! No need to order/stock separate parts!

How high should Franke Range Hoods be installed?

 

Franke Range Hoods are designed to operate most efficiently at 28-30” over a cooking surface.

What is the maximum, allowable duct run allowed?

 

Franke Range Hoods are designed to operate with no more than 35’ of solid duct work. Flexible duct work is not recommended.

Can I install an additional, external blower to enhance the performance of a Franke Range Hood?

 

With most of the Franke line fitted with powerful internal blowers - additional, external blowers are neither recommended nor necessary in most applications. Franke does offer external blowers for our built-in, insert series (Artisan).

Do I need to purchase/stock corresponding liners and blowers for the Franke Built-In Inserts (Artisan series)?

 

Whether you choose internal blower or external blower models, our unique built-in insert comes complete with integral stainless liner – no need for optional or additional liners. Internal blower styles come complete with blowers included.

Can Franke Range Hoods be installed in kitchens with high ceilings?

 

Yes – most of the Franke Range hoods are equipped to fit 9’ high ceilings right out of the box. For higher ceilings, optional chimney extensions are available.

What is the electrical requirement for Franke Range Hoods?

 

Franke recommends a minimum of a 15 amp (20 amp preferred) dedicated hard line for best performance in both ducted and ductless applications.
