Yes, the water is stored under pressure at 110°C in the Heating Tank, and is 100°C boiling water when it leaves the spout.
The tap has a safety button which needs to be activated to allow the boiling water to be discharged – when this button is released the boiling water automatically cuts off.
Yes, the Minerva tap can be fitted with the boiling water handle either to the left or to the right – the Franke logo is etched onto both sides of the tap.
We recommend that you position the spout opposite to the boiling water control, bearing in mind the position of your sink bowl(s) and whether you are left or right handed.

As the Minerva requires a standard 35mm taphole, it can be fitted both new and retrospectively to replace an existing tap.
No – the Franke Minerva tap is a 3-in-1 boiling water and hot/cold water tap, no separate tap is required.
The Minerva tap is supplied with a Conditioning Filter which is fitted to the water entering the Heating Tank to improve the water quality and taste. The cold water is therefore not ’filtered’ and is normal mains cold water.
We recommend that filter cartridges should be replaced every 6 months.

The unique Franke Heating Tank is only 142mm in height and can therefore be fitted under a standard 600mm cabinet behind a standard 150mm plinth – saving valuable space in your kitchen cabinet. The tank must be fitted horizontally (not vertically).
The Heating Tank requires a standard 600mm kitchen cabinet.
Simply plug the Heating Tank into a normal 13 amp ring main plug socket.
The Franke Minerva 3-in-1 Kettle tap requires a minimum of 1.5 bar mains cold pressure to the heating tank. Ideally the hot water pressure should be comparable, but certainly not less than 1 bar.
A Pressure Relief Valve and Tundish are included with the Franke Heating Tank.
The Franke Minerva tap can dispense up to 47 cups of 100°C boiling water per hour, and the recovery time from empty is 15 minutes.

Whilst the Franke Heating Tank should only be connected to the mains once it has been filled with water, the Tank is fitted with a Reset Button which can be utilised in the event that the tank is plugged in in error.
Like any kettle this depends on how hard the water is in a particular area. If you have a particular issue with limescale, you can contact Franke FilterFlow on 0808 165 0008 to get another Inline Filter or a replacement type of filter that will do the job of reducing limescale.
Simply unplug the Heating Tank whilst you are on holiday. On your return, plug the unit back in, and turn
on the boiling water tap to drain the existing water from the tank. Once the tank has refilled and heated
(15 minutes) the tap can be used in the normal way.

The warranty period is 2 years on the Heating Tank and 2 years on the Minerva 3-in-1 Kettle Tap.
